What is Interior Mastery?
Interior Mastery is a space of formation for those seeking peace, presence, and clarity in the spiritual life. Rooted in the wisdom of the saints, it explores the slow work of reordering the soul through grace, prayer, and spiritual discipline.
At its center is the concept of the Rule—not just a set of practices, but a pattern of life formed from within. While monastics have long lived by Rules, this space invites laypeople, professionals, parents, students, and seekers to consider how the same wisdom can be shaped for ordinary life.
Each post, practice, and reflection is written for those who are tired of the world’s noise, unclear routines, or simply unsure how to live closely with God in the midst of distraction and responsibility.
Why subscribe?
Subscribers receive regular reflections on Rule-building, prayer, interior discipline, and spiritual formation.
There is no promise of immediate change—only a slow, sustained movement toward Christ through the ordering of the soul as we grow together.
About Me
My name is Phil, and I’m writing this work as I strive to live it. Interior Mastery was born from the realization that the modern world forms us constantly, but rarely well.
I live in the Diocese of Wichita, KS. I have devoted many years to the study and practice of spiritual formation, and I’m currently enrolled in a formal Catholic education program focused on that work.
Interior Mastery is my attempt to create the structures, rhythms, and spiritual architecture that allow the soul to grow in grace.
